 Welcome to the Design Diaries. I'm so pleased that you have joined me on this journey to document thoughts, ideas, and projects in my little corner of the world. This blog will not be fancy. In fact, this is just old school blogging. I tell people all the time that I am not tech savvy, and I'm not. But there's something to be said for simplicity, and that is definitely me.

So, a little something about myself. I have no formal training in interior design, but I have been learning it all my adult life. Little by little, project by project, book by book, I have been learning. Trial and error, not a lot of cash but a whole lot of creativity, I have been learning. My home does not look like HGTV or what is on trend. It's collected. It's a traditional mix of southern, English country, and a little bit French country. It doesn't really fit one box, but it does fit me. Truth be known, I don't care about what is trending because I don't want my home to look like everyone else's home. I stopped watching HGTV years ago, and it would suit me just fine if I never see another gray wall or tile again. I guess that would qualify as a little rant 😁. 

Anyway, thank you for being here. I hope you will stop by often to see what's happening at the cottage. Thank you for your grace when it comes to my simplistic blog style. Like I said, tech savvy is ot me. And most of all, thank you for your time. I do hope that this blog will inspire you to create a home that is you.
